This theme was started in 2013 and focus on the kids of Chinese Miao and Yao Minority who were all living in the distant mountain region near the border of China and Vietnam.

​The Children's pictures I captured the theme are mainly from the villages of Shuilong, Longmiao, Boman etc. in Nabo County, Guangxi, China.

​No matter how they looked like, beauty, poor, dirty. One important idea of this theme was to show who they were at that time. Their faces, eyes, gestures, dressing were telling us what their life were and what was their living conditions in 2013. They could have desired, stunned, desolate, but they are not live in a negative way.  I believe that their living conditions will be improved soon.  

该专题的拍摄始于2013年，聚焦生活在中越边境大山深处的苗族、瑶族等少数民族小孩。

​​专题中孩子们的居住地主要位于广西那坡县沿边（边境）公路两侧深山中的坡曼、水弄、弄苗等村落。

该专题的重要目的就是记录和呈现当时边境深山处孩子们的现状，他们是谁？不管这些孩子的外表是丑、是美、是脏.....有父母外出打工留守的孩子，有父母早婚早育的孩子、有不受但是计划生育管控出生而报不进户口的孩子等等。但他们是可爱的、天真的、纯洁的，从他们的目光、神态、举止、服饰中我们可以探寻到，这些少数民族孩子在边陲大山深处的现实生活，他们的民族和传承、期望和未来、同时展示了他们的惊愕和孤寂......
